Leadership Sandy Springs launches Youth Leadership Sandy Springs this year. YLSS is for high school sophomores and juniors interested in developing leadership skills, investigating the issues facing our community and discovering opportunities for service now and in the future.

The first YLSS class of 30 students has been selected. In August 2011, the class will begin exploring Sandy Springs, looking at its government, environment, social service agencies, public safety and economic development. Classes will meet at city hall to get a close-up look at city government.  We’ll be on the river and in city parks.  Meetings with business leaders and workdays at social service institutions will round out a picture of the community.

From what we learn, class members will create a service project that will have a lasting impact on Sandy Springs.
