In 1986, the Leadership Sandy Springs Foundation Committee was initiated under the former Sandy Springs Chamber of Commerce and the inaugural class was formed.
In subsequent years, Leadership Sandy Springs evolved as an independent 501(c)3, educating and inspiring members to take leadership positions in the community—even prior to Sandy Springs becoming a city. In 2004, Sandy Springs was incorporated and many of our LSS members were instrumental in the creation and development of our city.
Since its inception, LSS has graduated more than 700 leaders who are prepared to make a positive impact on our community. LSS is a dynamic program that has opened doors for its alumni through civic involvement and professional development.
While working for Leadership Sandy Springs, I not only learned about community issues and volunteer service. I also saw the pivotal impetus that made each class cohesive and effective: a spirited and talented network of individuals who were committed to ideas, actions, and fun!
