FAQ'S
Q: How do I become a member of a
LSS class?
A: Nominations are sent to the Executive Director or a member
of the Board of Trustees. Community organizations, businesses, and alumni
are encouraged to nominate qualified candidates. Contact the Executive
Director at director@leadershipsandysprings.org
for application information. An alumni representative will contact you.
Q. What is the time commitment of a class member?
A. Leadership Sandy Springs invests its resources and time
in each member of a class and in our alumni. Therefore, LSS requires a
commitment of time from each member. The program runs for approximately
10 months. Class members participate in a two-day opening retreat in the
early fall, a full-day program day each month, plus evening sessions once a
month or every other month, class projects and a one-day closing retreat.
The schedule is provided before the program begins so class members may plan
accordingly.
Q. Is there an attendance policy for class
members?
A. Yes, all class members are asked to sign an attendance
contract. Participants are asked to attend all planned events and are
given important dates at the time they are accepted. We realize emergencies
arise and have outlined attendance standards in the contract.
Q. What is the cost to participate
as a class member and is their financial aid available?
A. Contact the Executive Director for more information
at director@leadershipssandysprings.org.
Businesses and non-profit organizations often sponsor their individual representatives.
However, limited partial scholarships are available.
Q. What are the benefits of participating
in a class?
A. LSS provides a unique leadership opportunity for employees,
volunteers, and those interested in the community. Programs are interactive,
educational and allow participants to experience working with diverse groups.
Businesses, faith-based groups, non-profits, and government entities create
goodwill and opportunities for networking and information sharing.
Q: We are a new business to Sandy Springs; how
can LSS help us get known in the community?
A: We encourage you to consider participating in the LSS Class
program. You will develop relationships with other businesses, plus
others who have connections with every facet of Sandy Springs. We also offer
new businesses the opportunity to because a Sponsor, with in-kind or financial
contributions. This will bring recognition on our web site, in our directory
and newsletters as well as the opportunity let our Class members and alumni
know about your business and what it has to offer them.
Q: How can I connect with LSS Alumni?
A: If you are a graduate of a Leadership Sandy Springs Class
and a member of the LSS Alumni Association you can obtain contact information
on-line through the Alumni portion of this web-site. If you are not an
LSS Alumni or not a member of the LSS Alumni Association, please contact us
at director@leadershipsandysprings.org.
Q: Our organization would like to participate as
a partner or potential site in Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs Day – What
do we do?
A: Groups of volunteers are welcome. Please email information
to us so we can make special arrangements for your group. If you are a
non-profit and want LSS to consider your location as a possible service site,
please contact the organizers at the following email address. Contact
