ABOUT US
Leadership Sandy Springs is a group of individuals with diverse backgrounds who
live and/or work in Sandy Springs, and have demonstrated a high degree of community
involvement and commitment. We are an organization comprised of both current
class members, and alumni who have completed the program. Class members for
the 10 month program are chosen based on criteria relating to prior leadership
and service in the community, potential to contribute to the future of Sandy
Springs, diversity, and desire to be involved. Nominations are accepted from
community organizations, businesses, and alumni. Classes are intentionally kept
small with a maximum of 30 participants to encourage relationship-building and
facilitate hands-on involvement in activities and projects.
A 10-month series of program days and activities are carefully
planned by a Board of Trustees' committee. Class members are given opportunities
to learn about Sandy Springs, interact with elected officials and area leaders,
and study issues facing businesses and our changing community.
Upon completion of the program, alumni members stay connected to the community through special programs and discussion sessions for LSS members.
> LSS alumni hold key positions in many organizations vital
to our community including the City of Sandy Springs, small and large businesses,
and civic and non-profit boards.
> See LSS class projects that are still making a difference in our community.
